The 3 Day Etosha Camping Safari is a lively, affordable way to experience Namibia’s best-known wildlife destination. Travel from Windhoek in a customised overland vehicle, camp close to the action and enjoy guided game drives through Etosha National Park.
Although the safari is compact, it gives you two rewarding opportunities to explore Etosha: an afternoon drive on arrival and a full day devoted to wildlife viewing. A final early drive may be possible before the return journey, depending on timing and park conditions.
This is a semi-participation camping adventure. You will pitch your own tent and help with simple meal preparation, which creates a friendly group atmosphere and keeps the experience practical. Your English-speaking guide handles the driving, route planning and safari interpretation.

- Benefit from included park, conservation and camping fees.

If you have limited time but want a genuine bush experience, this 3 Day Etosha Camping Safari packs wildlife, open skies and camp camaraderie into an exciting long weekend.
You will spend two nights camping in or near Etosha. The planned base is generally the Okaukuejo Resort campsite, subject to availability and the confirmed route. Okaukuejo is well placed for exploring the park’s southern wildlife areas and is known for its floodlit waterhole.
Dome tents and mattresses are supplied. Please bring your own sleeping bag and personal camping items. Campsite facilities are shared, and standards are practical rather than luxurious.
Each guest helps to pitch and pack their tent. This participation is part of the experience and allows the group to settle into camp efficiently before meals and game drives.
Meals shown in the daily schedule are included and prepared at camp. Dinner is served on arrival day. The full safari day includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, while breakfast is included before returning to Windhoek.
Guests assist with simple food preparation and camp duties. Your guide coordinates the meals and daily routine. Please advise us of dietary requirements before booking; options in remote areas can be limited.
Drinks, snacks and meals not listed in the schedule are excluded. Bring a refillable water bottle and any personal snacks you may want between activities.
Guided Etosha game drives
After entering Etosha, begin searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope and predators across the open plains. Your guide chooses routes according to season, recent sightings and road conditions. Read more about game viewing in Etosha.
The full day in the park allows time to visit several Etosha waterholes. Each stop has a different character, and patience is often rewarded. Wildlife sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed.
Life in camp
Camping brings you closer to the sounds and rhythms of the bush. Evenings are relaxed and social, with time to share the day’s sightings over dinner. At Okaukuejo, you may also visit the floodlit waterhole after dark when camp rules and timing allow.
