Omarunga Epupa-Falls Camp on the Kunene River
Omarunga Epupa-Falls Camp is positioned on the Kunene River in far northern Namibia, approximately 200 metres upstream from Epupa Falls. The camp sits beneath makalani palms in a narrow riverine belt surrounded by the drier landscapes of Kaokoland.
The location provides easy access to the falls while offering shaded areas beside the river. Guests can stay in en-suite rooms or at a campsite and use the camp as a base for walking, birding, cultural visits and seasonal river activities.
Omarunga Epupa-Falls Camp is about 180 kilometres north of Opuwo. The journey is part of the experience, but travellers should plan fuel, supplies and driving time carefully because services are limited in this remote region.

The camp has 14 rooms: twelve twin rooms, one double room and one family room with bunk beds for two children. Rooms include an en-suite shower bathroom, mosquito nets, tea and coffee facilities and a veranda overlooking the riverine surroundings.
Camping near Epupa Falls
Ten campsites accommodate up to six guests per site, with space for one camper van or two 4×4 vehicles. Campers use shared ablutions with hot and cold water and have access to power points, lighting, shade and barbecue areas.
Firewood is available for purchase. Pets are not permitted, and campers should arrive with sufficient food and other supplies for a remote stay.

Shared facilities include a restaurant, bar, cold-water swimming pool, reception, curio shop and secure parking. Wi-Fi is available near reception, although connectivity in the Epupa area can be limited.
Room rates normally include breakfast. Lunch, dinner and packed lunches are available separately. Campsite guests can use the restaurant and other shared areas, making it possible to combine camping with occasional prepared meals.

Guided walks follow sections of the riverbank and are well suited to birdwatching. Seasonal rafting may be offered when water levels and safety conditions permit. A sundowner walk climbs to a viewpoint above the Epupa area, while fly-in day visits can combine the falls with a cultural activity.

The road from Opuwo is mostly gravel. A 4×4 or high-clearance vehicle is recommended, particularly after rain. An airstrip is located near Epupa, and transfers can be arranged in advance for fly-in guests.
Children are welcome, and the family room provides a practical option for parents travelling with younger children. Children up to five years generally stay free, while children aged six to 13 usually receive a reduced sharing rate.
