Overview of Eagle's Nest Chalets

Eagle's Nest Chalets are located 2 kilometers west of Aus on the B4 road in southwestern Namibia, within the Klein Aus Vista collection. This property offers sweeping views where the Pro-Namib merges with desert sands, providing a sense of freedom and reconnection with nature.

It's 7 kilometers from the main Desert Horse Inn and serves as a private retreat for exploring the Gondwana Sperrgebiet Rand Park or as a stopover between the Fish River Canyon and Sossusvlei. The chalets are built into granite boulders with a mountain backdrop, incorporating natural elements for a rustic yet comfortable setup.

Guests can spot eagles soaring above and enjoy expansive vistas from verandas. Nearby, the Garub waterhole (20km west) allows sightings of wild horses, and Lüderitz with Kolmanskop (100km west) offers day trips to historical sites.

The chalets suit couples, small groups, and families, emphasizing privacy and self-catering. They are accessible by standard vehicles, with a 7km drive from the inn. Activities include guided drives in the Succulent Karoo desert and unguided trails for hiking or biking, highlighting flora, fauna, and viewpoints.

The area features granite-gneiss mountains, springbok on plains, and klipspringer on slopes, with historical spots like WWI ramparts.

Location and Accessibility

At GPS coordinates S 26° 39.121 E 16° 14.608, the chalets are set in a rocky landscape with boundless views. It's east of Aus, near where the desert begins, with wild horses on nearby plains. Access is via the B4 tar road, then a 7km track to the chalets, with secure parking.

Damaraland and Kaokoveld Experience Wow what an experience! I have done 8 trips to Namibia before to different areas and needed something unique for our next trip. T2N was the ultimate solution. Anschen and Anine and their energie, their knowledge of the off-beaten track gems was just what we needed. Their response and precision was to the T. The complete travel arrangements to Damaraland and Kaokoveld made by T2N went so smoothe without any issues. Accommodation was spot-on and the advice and route info they supplied just did the trick. Great memory and experience thanks to theT2N teams efforts and dedicated work. Will definitely make all my travel arrangements through them again and highly recommend T2N to anyone super and honest travel service. Salute to T2N - job well done
