Tandem Skydiving

Varies by altitude and weather · Departs Swakopmund Airport drop zone or arranged accommodation pickup

Take in the Namib Desert and Atlantic Ocean from the air before stepping into an unforgettable tandem freefall above Swakopmund. No previous skydiving experience is needed: you are securely attached to a licensed tandem instructor from briefing to landing.

Choose Your Altitude

Altitude Price Approximate freefall
10,000 ft N$4,700 35 seconds
12,000 ft N$5,750 45 seconds
15,000 ft N$7,400 60 seconds

The 10,000-foot jump is the standard introduction, the 12,000-foot jump is the most popular option for extra freefall and footage, and 15,000 feet delivers the longest freefall. Camera packages are not included in these jump prices. Specials may be available for SADC residents.

What to Expect

  1. Arrival and briefing: Check in at the Swakopmund Airport drop zone, complete the safety paperwork and meet your instructor. Courtesy pickup from your accommodation may be arranged, or you can arrive independently.
  2. Gear and flight: Your instructor fits and checks the tandem harness before you board the distinctive jump aircraft. The climb offers scenic views of the desert, coastline and Atlantic fog.
  3. Freefall and canopy: Exit at your chosen altitude and accelerate to more than 200 km/h. Once the parachute opens, the pace becomes peaceful and you may have an opportunity to help steer while enjoying the panorama.
  4. Landing: Return to the drop zone for a smooth landing and post-jump celebration.
