See Namibia’s great desert landscapes from a high-wing Cessna 210 on a choice of scenic flights from Swakopmund. Routes reveal places that are difficult to appreciate from the ground: dune seas, dry river canyons, remote shipwrecks, seal colonies, wetlands, mountains and the meeting of the Namib Desert and Atlantic Ocean.

Sossusvlei Scenic
Fly low over the Kuiseb Canyon and Tsondabvlei toward the immense shifting dunes at Sossusvlei. Continue across the restricted diamond area, passing old diamond camps, Conception Bay, Cape fur seal colonies and the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee shipwrecks. The return follows the Long Wall dunes, Sandwich Harbour, salt works, Walvis Bay, Langstrand and the coast to Swakopmund.
Cape Cross Scenic
Follow the Swakop River toward the Moon Landscape and Rössing mine, then continue past Spitzkoppe, Brandberg and the Ugab River, where desert-adapted wildlife may be seen. Reach the Skeleton Coast and fly south past Cape Cross’s immense seal colony, Henties Bay, the Zeila wreck, Wlotzkasbaken and the coastal salt works.
Namib Desert Scenic
Head south past Walvis Bay International Airport and the Kuiseb River to the Shawnee shipwreck. Turn north via Sandwich Harbour and its internationally important wetlands, then pass Walvis Bay Harbour before returning to Swakopmund.
Skeleton Coast Scenic
Travel east over the Moon Landscape and the Swakop and Khan river systems, then south across the Kuiseb and dune field to Conception Bay. Follow the coast past Cape fur seals, the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee wrecks, the Long Wall, Sandwich Harbour, salt mines, Walvis Bay and the coastal resorts.
Swakopmund–Sossusvlei Area Flight
This pickup or drop-off flight also becomes a scenic journey, crossing the restricted diamond area and old diamond camps before reaching Conception Bay. The route includes seal colonies, shipwrecks, the Long Wall, Sandwich Harbour, salt mines, Walvis Bay, Langstrand and Dolphin Park.

- Flights operate daily, subject to weather and aircraft availability.
- Typical shared-flight departure guidance is approximately 14:30 in winter and 17:00 in summer for favourable photography light; private-flight timing is more flexible.
- Full names and weights of all passengers are required for flight planning.
- Earplugs and bottled water are provided.
- Small personal items such as cameras, handbags and jackets are permitted.
Aircraft and Safety
The fleet uses six-seat, single-engine, high-wing Cessna 210 aircraft. These 300-horsepower aircraft operate under Namibia Civil Aviation Authority requirements and are serviced at 50-hour and 100-hour intervals.
