Zambezi Mubala Lodge overview
Zambezi Mubala Lodge is a riverfront lodge on the Zambezi River, reached by boat from Zambezi Mubala Camp. Guests leave their vehicle at the camp, about 40 kilometres east of Katima Mulilo, and continue to the lodge by water. The transfer makes the arrival part of the experience and places the lodge away from through traffic.
The property has 21 bungalows, a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool. It works well for couples, families and birders who want a comfortable base for cruises, fishing and time beside the river. The atmosphere is informal, with private verandas and shared spaces designed around the water.

The lodge has four twin bungalows, thirteen double bungalows and four family bungalows. Family rooms sleep up to four guests and are suitable for either two adults with two children or four adults, depending on the room arrangement.
Guest-room amenities include air conditioning and heating, mosquito nets, a safe, a small fridge, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Each bungalow also has a veranda, giving guests a private place to sit between activities.

Zambezi Mubala Lodge cruises, fishing and birding
Guided boat cruises explore the Zambezi at different times of day. A sunset cruise is the shorter, more relaxed option, while morning or afternoon cruises allow more time for birding and photography. Guided fishing trips are also offered, with all fishing conducted on a catch-and-release basis. Fishing licences are separate.
The surrounding area supports more than 450 recorded bird species. Carmine bee-eaters are a special seasonal attraction, generally between August and December, when a large colony gathers along the riverbanks. Planning a Zambezi Mubala Lodge stay
The road journey ends at Zambezi Mubala Camp, around 40 kilometres east of Katima Mulilo. From there, guests take a scheduled boat transfer to the lodge. Airport transfers and connections between selected Zambezi properties can be arranged in advance.
Children are welcome. Children up to five years generally stay free, while those aged six to thirteen usually receive a reduced bed-and-breakfast rate. Families should confirm the most suitable room and boat-transfer arrangements when booking.
