Shametu River Lodge is a peaceful retreat located just 6km from Divundu, offering an idyllic setting on the banks of the Kavango River. Additionally, two parks make up part of the Bwabwata National Park – Mahango Game Park and Buffalo Core Area – just a short distance away.

These parks are home to at least two of the big five, as well as many other antelopes that are not commonly found in other parts of Namibia.

With 11 Luxury Chalets, 4 Luxury Tents that stand on stilts over the river, and 4 Bush Rooms, Shametu River Lodge offers a variety of accommodation options. The Bush Rooms, which are situated atop a small hill about 60m from the main lodge, boast an incredible view of the valley below.

During the day, guests can visit the lodge's restaurant for a delicious meal, ranging from a sunnyside up Breakfast to the best pizza in “town” and of course, the Shametu Burger. After a long day of exploring, unwind on your personal porch with a glass of wine and watch the stunning Namibian sunset.

At night, fall asleep to the calming sound of the Okavango River and the Popa Falls in the background.

Shametu River Lodge offers 18 luxury chalets, each beautifully furnished with an en-suite bathroom, mosquito net, coffee station, and lounge area. Our restaurant offers a delightful variety of meals, including breakfast, pizza and of course, the Shametu Burger.

During your stay, you can engage in a range of activities such as game drives, fishing trips, sunset boat cruises, and relaxing by the pool overlooking the Popa Falls. After a long day, you can enjoy a glass of wine on your personal porch while watching the Namibian sunset, surrounded by the calming sounds of the Okavango River and the Popa Falls.

They also have luxury tents built on stilts on the banks of the Okavango River, offering a spectacular view of the Popa Falls. Each permanent tent is beautifully furnished with an en-suite bathroom, mosquito net, coffee station, and lounge area.

During the day, you can enjoy picnics, fishing trips, and sunset cruises. Our coffee shop offers delicious imported coffee, cakes, and tarts in the afternoon, baked by our experienced baker. At night, you can comfortably drift off to sleep in a tented atmosphere with the calming sounds of nature and the Okavango River.

If you prefer camping, we offer campsites that provide privacy and peaceful surroundings. You can camp in comfort without sharing ablutions and kitchen facilities with other campers. For those camping in a group, we have family-style campsites available, allowing you to share ablutions and kitchen facilities.

Each campsite has access to electricity and running water, and our kitchenettes provide ample shelter and shade during the rainy seasons and hot summer months.
