Sesriem Campsite is ideal for travellers looking for a life-changing camping experience in the desert but with the added benefit of nearby facilities. Our campsites are far apart, so you can get that I'm-definitely-in-the-wild feel!

Sesriem Campsite has been upgraded, and guests can use the gas station, shop, restaurant and bar. But when you're at your campsite under the acacia's shade, you can enjoy being on the edge of Namib.

The famous orange dunes are visible from the campsites, and if you're lucky, you can spot some of the Namib-Naukluft Reserve wildlife too! The desert is home to oryx, hyena, black-backed jackal, springbok and zebra. Animal sightings are rare but truly special.

What to do near Sesriem Campsite

You can leave early in the morning with your coffee and rusks and enjoy breakfast en route to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Naturally, watching the sunrise over the dunes is spectacular. There are also walking trails like the Sesriem Canyon hike. The Sesriem campsite is popular because it's only 60km from Sossusvlei, where Dune 45 can be found. This is the most photographed dune ever! It's also easy to climb.

Deadvlei is a haunting salt pan dotted with dead acacia trees with red dunes in the background. There's also the lesser-known but striking Naukluft Massif, a mountain gorge with lush greenery and spring water pools.

We recommend a two-night stay to experience the area and to see a sunrise and sunset in the desert because it's just the best time of the day! The dune's orange and red pop, and the sky turns a kaleidoscope of colours.
