Etosha Safari Camp: family accommodation near Etosha

Etosha Safari Camp lies about ten kilometres south of Andersson Gate, providing straightforward access to Etosha National Park. Colourful buildings, recycled decorative details and a lively central area give it a more informal personality than a traditional lodge. It is a practical option for couples, families, groups and self-drive travellers.

The camp combines 50 chalets with a separate camping area. Rooms are positioned among mopane trees, while the restaurant, bar and pool form the social heart of the property. Evening music is a regular feature, so travellers looking for a very quiet, secluded lodge should consider whether the energetic atmosphere suits them.

Chalets at Etosha Safari Camp

The current room mix includes twin, triple and family chalets. All have air-conditioning, an en-suite shower bathroom and a small private veranda. Family rooms use a double bunk-bed arrangement designed for two adults and two children younger than thirteen, while triple rooms provide three beds.

Bright textiles, artwork and individual decorative touches continue the camp’s cheerful theme inside the rooms. Guests should specify the required bed configuration and children’s ages before booking. The chalets are comfortable bases for park visits rather than self-catering units, and meals are taken in the central restaurant unless another basis is confirmed.

Etosha Safari Campsite and camp facilities

The nearby Etosha Safari Campsite has 20 grassy stands beneath mopane trees. Sites provide power points, braai facilities and shared ablutions, with space limits for vehicles and guests. Campers can use the Safari Camp restaurant, bar and cold-water swimming pool, combining conventional camping with access to lodge amenities.

Dining and entertainment at Etosha Safari Camp

The Oshebeena restaurant and bar serve meals in a casual setting decorated with local character. Evening performances add to the sociable atmosphere. A curio shop, mobile connectivity, Wi-Fi around the main lodge and laundry services are also available under current conditions.

Game drives from this lodge near Andersson Gate

Guests can book half-day or full-day guided Etosha drives. The open safari vehicles provide elevated seating, and guides explain the park’s wildlife and landscape. Snacks or refreshments may be included, while park fees are generally separate; we will verify the current arrangement for your dates.

Guided walks through nearby mopane woodland may also be offered. Self-drive guests can enter through Andersson Gate and follow park roads between waterholes. Wildlife is free-ranging, and weather and seasonal water availability influence every outing.

Planning an Etosha Safari Camp stay

Children are welcome. Current policies generally provide free accommodation for children up to five and discounted rates for ages six to thirteen, subject to room type and sharing conditions. Campsite rules and prices are separate from chalet terms, so confirm the correct basis.
