Overview of Chobe River Camp

Chobe River Camp is an eco-friendly lodge situated on the banks of the Chobe River, 4 kilometers from the Ngoma border post between Namibia and Botswana in the Zambezi Region. This property is part of the Gondwana Collection and offers a serene base for wildlife viewing, with views over floodplains where herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelope can be spotted.

The camp was inspired by the natural landscape, with chalets constructed using indigenous Mopane timber and canvas for an environmentally conscious design. It's ideal for combining with day trips to Chobe National Park, home to one of Africa's largest elephant concentrations, or to Victoria Falls, 150 kilometers away.

The area is a wildlife and birdwatcher's paradise, with opportunities to observe seasonal migrations and diverse species in the Bwabwata National Park.

The camp caters to couples, families, and campers, with 20 tented chalets and four campsites providing comfortable options close to nature. It's accessible by standard vehicles and serves as a stopover for travelers exploring Namibia's northeast or crossing into Botswana.

Guests can relax in the pool, dine with river views, or join activities that highlight the region's biodiversity. The camp emphasizes sustainable tourism, blending modern comforts with the wilderness, allowing time to unwind as the sun sets over the water.

Location and Accessibility

Located at GPS coordinates -17.898339°, 24.728972°, the camp is on the Chobe River's banks, surrounded by floodplains and ecosystems supporting large mammal herds. It's 90 kilometers from Katima Mulilo, making it reachable via tarred roads. Access is via the Ngoma border post, with secure parking available.

Transfers from Mpacha Airport in Katima Mulilo (90km one way) are N$840 per person return (min 2 pax). A package transfer between three Zambezi Gondwana properties (Namushasha River Lodge, Zambezi Mubala Lodge, Chobe River Camp) costs N$1,170 per person round trip. The property is partially accessible for restricted mobility—inquire for details. Mobile connectivity is available.

Damaraland and Kaokoveld Experience Wow what an experience! I have done 8 trips to Namibia before to different areas and needed something unique for our next trip. T2N was the ultimate solution. Anschen and Anine and their energie, their knowledge of the off-beaten track gems was just what we needed. Their response and precision was to the T. The complete travel arrangements to Damaraland and Kaokoveld made by T2N went so smoothe without any issues. Accommodation was spot-on and the advice and route info they supplied just did the trick. Great memory and experience thanks to theT2N teams efforts and dedicated work. Will definitely make all my travel arrangements through them again and highly recommend T2N to anyone super and honest travel service. Salute to T2N - job well done
