Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch
Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch is set among red dunes and mixed tree-and-shrub savannah near Mariental. The property combines lodge rooms, chalets and camping, so it can suit different Namibia travel styles.
The restored farmhouse forms the centre of the ranch, while accommodation spreads into the surrounding landscape. For general planning information, the Namibia Tourism Board is a useful official resource.
The central farmhouse contains reception, a lounge, dining room and bar, with a garden and pool immediately outside. A library and wine cellar provide quieter indoor spaces. Accommodation is spread across dunes and savannah, so room categories differ not only in size but also in setting and walking distance.
Bagatelle Kalahari rooms and campsites
Options include Dune Chalets, Exclusive Dune Chalets with private plunge pools, Savannah Chalets and Garden Rooms. Room amenities generally include air conditioning, a ceiling fan, mosquito net, safe, hairdryer, fridge and tea-and-coffee facilities.
Campsites are positioned away from the main lodge. Each has a private ablution area, barbecue facilities, lighting and solar-heated water. We will confirm the current category layout and occupancy for your booking.
Dune Chalets sit on or beside the red ridges and emphasise the elevated view. Exclusive Dune Chalets add a private plunge pool. Savannah Chalets stand in the open grassland, while Garden Rooms remain closer to the main farmhouse. Some bathrooms include a bath as well as a shower.
Facilities at this Kalahari Desert accommodation
The farmhouse includes reception, lounges, a restaurant, bar and outdoor dining areas. Guests can also use a swimming pool, Wi-Fi in selected areas, a library and wellness facilities. Laundry service and card payments are available.
Meal inclusions depend on the rate selected. Tell us about dietary requirements in advance, particularly if you are camping or arriving late.
The campsites are roughly one kilometre from the lodge to preserve a quieter setting. Each has its own shower, toilet and barbecue area, plus power, lighting and solar-heated water. Campers should confirm meal access, firewood and the maximum number of people per site when reserving.
Activities at Bagatelle Kalahari
Guided options may include nature drives, sundowner outings, night drives, stargazing, horse safaris and cultural walks. A conservation-focused cheetah visit may also be offered. Programmes can change, and some require minimum ages or guest numbers.
Choose activities that match your interests rather than trying to fit everything into one night. Two nights provide a more relaxed Kalahari experience.
Horse rides range from gentle outings to longer routes according to experience. Night drives focus on nocturnal species, while stargazing benefits from the low light levels. Cultural walks and the cheetah-related visit should be approached as guided educational activities whose timing and format may change.
