Nunda River Lodge, situated in the Kavango east region of Namibia, is an experience seldom encountered in the Southern African continent with its homely relaxed atmosphere enhanced with a true African wildlife experience. Nunda, the local Thimbukushu name given to the fruit of the Jackalberry tree, is situated on the Okavango River in the homeland of the Hambukushu tribe. Nunda River Lodge is centrally situated as a destination in itself.
Nunda River Lodge is in close proximity of two game parks, Mahango and the Buffalo Core areas. Nunda River lodge is built on the banks of the Okavango River downstream from Popa Falls. The lodge consists of a restaurant, bar, lounge, wine cellar and reception area all under thatched roof, and a deck over the river where one can enjoy the sunset over the river. The sparkling pool is also available for those hot days.
The lodge consists of 7 large en-suite double Meru type “luxury tents”, 8 thatched en-suite bungalows, all river facing and 4 en-suite chalets non-river facing. The lodge can also accommodate the camping enthusiast with 9 grassed and shaded camping sites. All campsites are on or close to the river and have a braai area, electrical and water points. Activities include game drives, boat trips, Mokoro (Wato) trips, fishing as well as traditional village and birding walks.
Spend at least two days or more exploring the region before travelling on to the Okavango Delta, Etosha Pans, Zambia or Victoria Falls. Excellent birding, magical wildlife encounters coupled with great fishing opportunities as well as diverse cultural experiences will only make you want to return.
We are fully licensed, sporting a fine wine selection and offering a 3 course dinner, breakfast and small meals throughout the day.
Make use of our Wi-Fi guest connectivity in the main lodge building.
We can take you into our neighbouring game parks by open game viewing vehicles to enjoy the abundance of wildlife.
Book a boat cruise with us to see the Popa Falls and to view the magnificent bird/wildlife; fishing is another favourite activity.
